National Committee

The 2011/2012 WISCV Committee is made up of:

Chair:
Sara Fernandez, Student Hubs
sara.fernandez@studenthubs.org
01865 264152

Sara works at Student Hubs, a national charity supporting student volunteering. In her role she works with local Hubs across 7 UK universities, which allows her to have a broad perspective of the sector.  In WiSCV she chairs the national committee and supports it to deliver its core activities: the Impact conference, the workers gathering, and the regional networks. She also manages any external relationships working together with the Vice Chair, including Volunteering England and EVDC.

Vice Chair:
Fiona Addison, UCL Union
f.addison@ucl.ac.uk
02076 790 199

Network Development Officer:

Judy Challis, Canterbury Christ Church University
judy.challis@canterbury.ac.uk
01227 782 409

Judy has been Volunteer Co-ordinator for nearly 6 years now at Canterbury Christ Church University and loves her role. She became a member of WiSCV in the first few months and has found it immensely helpful in many aspects of her job and knowing that if she doesn't know the answer to a particular problem, there is, no doubt someone else in the network who can enlighten her has been quite comforting. Based in the Employability and Careers Service of the University, she primarily
runs a brokerage scheme for students to find volunteering opportunities in the local community but has recently started to encourage more group and student-led volunteering.

Website and IT Officer:
Genevieve Laurier, University of East London Students' Union
laurier@uel.ac.uk
0208 223 7025

Genevieve is the Volunteer Coordinator for UELSU, where she sees to all things volunteer-related. Although you could find her doing anything from training to fundraising, her focus is on supporting student-led community volunteering and civic leadership. Before joining UELSU she lived in Oxford where she got involved with Oxford Hub, a branch of the national charity Student Hubs, Oxford University Students' Union, and the local community volunteering project Kids Adventure.  In WiSCV she works to maintain the (hopefully high) quality of this website.
